Replacement of conservatory with built gable style garden room, internal ground floor remodelling to create a more useable open plan kitchen and living space, and lower ground floor remodelling to provide living accomodation.
This scheme takes a small bungalow in Swanage with stunning views over Swanage bay to a 2 storey contemporary family home, featuring large aspect windows from all living areas and master bedroom which showcase uninterrupted views to the sea.
A new porch and garden room at the front of the property feature gable style roofs and triangular windows reaching up to the ceiling, flooding the house with much more natural light into the previously dark entrance area and hallway. The client chose a more contemporary aesthetic for the proposed design, replacing a concrete tiled roof with slates, and adding natural timber cladding to the porch and garden room, which compliment the Purbeck stone well, while adding a more modern twist to the house.
The existing lower ground floor was poorly designed and unusable space, which is being converted into 2 bedrooms with garden and sea views, and a shower room and utility alongside the garage.
