Transforming an existing pool house into a 1 bedroom bungalow brought the issue of external materials to light during the design and planning process. The pool house is on land close to other properties, so we investigated a range of material combinations using renders for the client to choose which would have the least impact on their neighbours.

They opted for the green zinc roof with dark brown timber cladding so the new home would blend in with the surroundings as much as possible.
